Now, the economy is as good as it has ever been.

Oh, if I could only take this out of context, then it would make a great election commercial. :) But then taking things out of context is the modus operandus in politics in this country....

The real motivation in my post is to wonder if the evolution of participation in Danish backgammon over the past 20 or so years is parallel to what happened in the US during the 1970s and '80s. Grass-roots participation thanks to corporate (liquor and other 'sin commodity' support), good press, good word-of-mouth, trendy (even to the point of being faddish) pressure. Backgammon seems to present so many interesting studies for anthropologists and economists....
