When our matches come around we still play basically like donkey dung because we know we're going to win and are lazy about it.

Interesting that you aren't motivated at BG because you don't feel there is any room for improvement, and you aren't motivated at tennis because you always win. I don't know how you can motivate yourself at BG, but (even though I don't play the game) it seems as though you need to find some stronger opponents -- players whose games will challenge yours.
