It is not so much that Blue wants to race, after all, the race is roughly tied, but Blue should move up with his back checker anyway. He cannot afford to let White bring down builders without giving a challenge.

I play this the same as 64R-43, that is, S = Split (24/20 13/10).

Playing S duplicates 1s. White’s will needs aces hit inside and also to lift his outside blot to safety. Playing Z = Reverse split (24/21 13/10) gives White 1s to lift outside, and 2s to hit inside.

In addition, moving out to the 20pt gives a direct shot at the 14pt, in case White tries to hide his blot there when he rolls a 3.
