Baffle Box Update

No, I don't always agree with Phil but this one is a no-brainer. I've played with all three versions:

Ver. 1 Made of high quality wood (maple); snapped together with magnets. Three felt-covered ramps. This version was the cleverest as far as assembly goes and equal to Ver. 2 in rollability.

Ver. 2 Made of smoky plexiglass (=lucite = acrylic = perspex = PMMA). Three felt-covered ramps. A bit less expensive(?) than the wooden version and harder to assemble (still only took about a minute). Similar features of rolling.

Ver. 3 Clear plexiglass. Slightly taller than V2 and more importantly, the ramps are steeper. But best of all are the machined grooves in the ramps which really cause the dice to tumble, a lot! (Ramps are still felt-covered so not noisy.) I've never put this one together but it looks like it assembles similarly to version 2.

I own version 2 and Phil has already rendered it obsolete. :( After playing with version 3 I'm going to shelve my V2 and buy the new one. I can't imagine how anyone could have a reasonable objection to V3, but that doesn't prevent the unreasonable ones. BTW, I attached neoprene rubber strips to the bottom edges of my V2 (carefully) using contact cement. I'll do that when I buy my V3 as it keeps the box more stably in position. Other than that I have no suggestions for improvements.

I have nearly two dozen dicecups of many shapes, sizes, and materials. I have the latest version of the Meyer Dice Tube. AFAIC they are all inferior to the V3 in terms of being confident that a diceroll is random. I've seen one cocked roll in 300-400 rolls (landed on top of a thick Crisloid checker). For those who like to shake their dice, have at it before you toss them into the V3. Never again hunt (minutes!) for dice on the floor. Effectively never be concerned whether your opponent is rolling randomly, and also important, never again have to defend your own rolling technique. The only thing better will be electronic dice built into clocks. Maybe Phil will take up that next.
