Hi Rick,
You wrote: However there are two other extreme scores which tend to be more critical than the GG and GS cases. These are 4 away 2 away (as a more extreme version of GG) and 2 away 4 away (as a more extreme version of GS). For convenience, let's call these two scores GG+ and GS+ respectively.
The 2-away 4-away score is a facinating one. Your definition of GG+ and GS+ is presumably based on games with the cube still at 1. So that got me wondering ...
1. How often will the GG+ player win a gammon with the cube still at 1?
2. What is the gammon price for the GG+ player?
3. How often will the GS+ player win the game without ever turning the cube.
4. What is the gammon price for the GS+ player?
I'm trying to get a handle on how extreme this score is, but I don't see a straightforward way to calculate these things. Do you have any thoughts? Thanks,
Tom
