Gammon Go (GG) and Gammon Save (GS) Considerations

I have a few comments.
There are match scores/cube values in medium-length matches with higher gammon prices than at Gammon-Go. IIRC, Walter Trice made a good double leading 2-away 7-away against me. I had about a 1-2% chance to win a gammon, which is quite significant at that score and enabled me to take, and I won a gammon on a 4-cube. The leader should rarely double the trailer in, but the leader's value from being able to use the doubling cube in positions with few gammons is not negligible.
Part of what enables your aggression at Gammon-Go is that you don't have to fear losing a gammon. That's not the case trailing 2-away 4-away. In addition, while doubled gammons are of course very valuable, you don't get full value from gammons when the leader passes, or when the leader doubles you first, whether you take or pass. I haven't yet computed the cubeful gammon prices on a 1-cube at this match score, but I think that might be helpful. My guess is that it would indicate that you can't be as aggressive steering toward double-edged positions trailing 2-away 4-away as at Gammon-Go.
