I used to not cube what I felt was a borderline TG situation unless I was certain my opp had some chance to take. But this past couple of years I've played on in too many .97 situations and then butchered some follow on checker plays as I had to decide how much to risk for more G's and how much to play safe and preserve my cash.

Of course by playing on I allow my opp to perhaps make a cube error later if I do cube and allow my opp to make checker play errors.

But once last year in a ABT when I wasn't sure whether I was TG or not, I cubed and my opp took a 1.28 pass."

Of course if this turns out to be 1.04 or so then I am a donk since no one is taking this.
