Making the 5pt still makes no sense. The four candidates I would consider are 24/18, 8/7* 8/3*, 8/7* 6/1*, and 18/13 8/7*. The centered cube confuses me a little because now I have to decide whether the double hit is overkill when it works. I think it is but perhaps not by a huge amount. If we simply anchor then White will also probably anchor and we won't be that close to a cube. 18/13 8/7* is also interesting but it gives a lot of return shots for seemingly little gain.

I would hit twice. I'm not sure which double hit is better; my inclination is to go for 8/7* 8/3*. There's probably a reason that Nack put a dilly builder on White's 4pt (duplicating White's threes everywhere?) but I'm missing the point of that hint.
