Hitting loose when White has such strong board doesn't appeal.

8/6 5/4 or 8/5 are probably very close, but neither play works at gammoning White or fighting for the 3pt.

I would try 5/3*/2, this play slows White down and frees up Blue's men on the 8 and 9 points if white doesn't re-enter with a 3.
