Hmmm. How much in common does this pos have with the frequent situation (e.g. $-game) where a player with a good 18-point holding game gets a shot at opp's last checker that hasn't reached home, sitting on the midpoint?

That's ND. So here the justification for doubling would have to depend upon this recube being of less value AtS than $. Yet I argued that leader's recube vig is significant (although I never said it's as good as $). So the "big double" claim of my original post is looking weaker all the time, and thus your response.
