Well, that was a killer roll. Still, backgammon play isn't about being merciful. We hit a 3rd for sure. 20/17*.

I don't know when slotting is right with multiple builders. I doubt if this is the exception.

17/12 gets us in better position to hit the 4th blot while staying out of harm's reach (11 is their best of a bad lot, but why make that available as a hit?).

Our goal now is to pull off the closeout, with secondary value coming from picking up the 4th checker. After hitting, 17/12 appears to be the best five to accomplish those.
