(Rampant abuse just like this on app stores over the years has really sharpened my recognition skills for this.)

What's even more glaring about these book reviews comes from how Amazon works. They have separate stores and reviews in different countries (e.g., US and UK). The average person from one country would probably not even know how to view, much less log into the store for a different country; if you're logged into one country, you're not automatically logged into another.

Yet many of the reviews for this book in the US and UK are written by the same users, some posted on different days even. What real UK user would review the book, then figure out how to log into Amazon US and review the book again there on another day?! The chances of this are nil. At best, users were coached on how to do this. At worst, the reviews are completely fake. Of course now that this has been pointed out, they'll probably go back in and use different accounts.
