"No Go on the Dice Tube"

I was happy to see Stick express opposition to the Dice Tube, though I'm curious about what his objection is.
I had started a match at the Vegas Open in the spring when another match set up a little ways to our right and started in with the Dice Tube. I found it an enormous distraction. Firstly, the sound off the dice *tinking* off the internal bars seemed to hit an annoying high frequency that my ears happens to be sensitive to, and secondly, out of the corner of my eye I kept seeing this big rotary arm movement -- kind of like a child playing choo-choo train with his arm -- as each player took his turn gasping the tall shiny thing and turning it over.
After several turns trying to "get used to" the thing but finding my attention equally divided between my plays and whether I could complain, I apologetically asked if they could move, and they were very nice about moving to a distant table -- though the tube owner clearly felt it was the best invention since sliced bread and couldn't imagine anyone finding it objectionable.
This is the only backgammon device I've seen that has real potential to annoy people who aren't even in the game. If I'm the only one, I guess I can always try to just get to the other end of a game room -- but I'd really hate to see these 'Tubes' gain in popularity.
