I think these should not be mandatory but should be player preference, since far too many players don't shake vigorously enough, and if you are of the type to be irritated by that, then just get yourself a baffle box and require your opponent to use it

No. I shouldn't be punished for other people's incompetence. I've had a couple people want to play with a baffle box with me and I told them sure, they could, but I wouldn't. If someone doesn't shake well enough or roll properly and they refused to use a baffle box alert a staff member and when they see it they can insist a baffle box be used. The imposition shouldn't be on the player does know how to shake and roll.
