I actually like the rule but I find tiring that the rules vary from tourney to tourney. Maybe eventually worldwide die on checker will be accepted. I think it is clear when the die in cocked or not so I do believe in Ken Larson's claims of increased confusion. Optional would be terrible.. we would never know what we are playing.. just like I never allow it to be optional to roll on the other side of the board.
