I vote "no" because:

- the universal rule works well and causes very, very few discussions. Don't fix what isn't broken.

- You have to wonder why it became the norm/rule to reroll when a die is on a checker. Some people argue that if the game were to start over from scratch that the die on checker would be a valid roll. I think that is how the game actually started way back in the day. Then I assume that there was an annoying number of discussions about which rolls were valid / flat or not and that eventually caused the re-roll rule to be introduced and globally accepted.
