I would add that the doubling window is based entirly on the score and the current cube value. It has nothing to do with the actual position. That is why the computer's evaluation of the current position is irrelevant. That is also why it might or might not be a double in any specific position - the doubling window is fixed for all positions, whereas the correctness of a double varies by position. Being in the doubling window is therefore necessary for it to be Double/Take, but not sufficient.
