Anonymity

I don't mind anonymity in general. If I had a problem with it I could easily ban the people in question, their ip ranges, etc... However, what are they doing wrong? I don't know offhand who 'ragoon' is (nor do I care honestly) and I do know who 6425 is. If they had done anything out of line or if there was a reason for needing to know who they were I'd ask, they'd either answer or be banned, easy enough.
I don't like misrepresenting oneself which nobody is doing to my knowledge. Like a long while ago there was someone who created the nick 'Nack Ballard' or other takeoffs of this name. It was obvious it wasn't Nack, asked him to make sure, then killed the nicks and made a post like 'hey, dipshit, it wouldn't be right to allow you to post under someone else's name'. End of story, no issues.
Anonymity is sometimes very useful and needed. It's hard to talk about it without talking about it since it's the subject at hand but there are many people who I know would feel muted about voicing their opinions on the WSOB if they had them because it would be to the detriment of the game, of the WSOB, of their own backgammon involvements, etc... There are a good deal of TDs who read here who may have thoughts on the subject but if they posted what they truly felt under their name it would hurt them more than help them albeit helping others in the short term but perhaps not the long term.
What if a player has many questions/derogatory things to say about the WSOB but also planned on coming to and playing London? You think it's a good idea for him to spout off about things before the tourney? You think he should remain quiet and then afterwards if shit hits the fan he gets blamed for not opening his mouth beforehand? It's sort of a lose/lose situation.
