The wording has changed more than once.

From 2007:

Here is your chance to vote for today’s best 32 active backgammon players in the world, based on their tournament skills and side games

From 2009:

You are invited to vote for the 32 best backgammon players in the world, based on their backgammon participation and performance in 2008-2009. Whose backgammon skills do you respect the most among players around the world?

The 2011 ballot stayed the same wording as 2009 though all you will see on the flintbg page is:

He asks them to rank the best players in the world, considering the level of their involvement with backgammon and their tournament skills over the past two years. Which players are the most respected by their fellow competitors?

I can't cheat and look back any farther than that because I wasn't on the bg scene and the internet wasn't accomplished enough to yet merit an official online ballot.
