Tradition on these is to break the midpoint and I see no reason this position should be any different. You are ahead in the race so it's the point you most want to clear. When you get away with it you often have a cube, even at the score. You can't hope to wait your opponent out by clearing the 8pt as he has just as much timing as you. Your opponent can't cube when you leave the shots so he'll never reach an efficient cube. 13/6
