A team

In Response To: A team (Iancho Hristov)

Iancho, that is indeed a very capable team of Danish players.

However I think Bonding may have been to much away from backgammon (but I don't know for sure). His talents though speak for themselves, and he would probably be able to work his way down to world class error rates pretty fast.

On the other, you might be missing some players: Bredahl and not least Mads Andersen.

Other strong players not mentioned are: Brian Elgaard (Viffer), Lasse H Madsen, Michael Jensen and Thomas Jespersen (who played Falafel in the first round this year - I didn't see the match unfortunately, wonder if it was recorded?).

Brian probably suffers from the same problem as Bonding - inactivity - but he will be capable of really low PRs with just a few games of polishing his game.

Anyway, I don't think anyone wouldn't put at least Sander, Trabolt and Gus on the Danish team - they are the true stars here, just a notch ahead of the others I suppose :-)

At the DBgF forums, there was a survey/discussion of who people would like to see play for Denmark - more than 25 names quicky came up, because people wanted to pick the team from different criteria (they should be active in DBgF, high rated, low PRs, etc.). It shows how difficult it is to put together a team: http://www.dbgf.dk/Debat/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=genereldebat&Number=181232&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=all
