White has a lot of pips tied up. If we play 24/18 6/3, get hit, and do not hit the return but anchor, White will likely run out of time first, while we have a stronger board. So the downside of getting hit and missing the return is not huge. And making the 3 with one of the stacked spares on the 6 is good as well, as is keeping the back checkers in communication.
