Mike, I'm 100% with you regarding the Verdana font. It is one of the best fonts for low resolution (around 100 ppi) PC and laptop screens; I use it myself as a default font in a LaTeX code editor.

Your last post is displayed in the following fashion on my Nexus devices: the text does fill the whole gray box, but the box itself is only half the width of the screen. Of course, a double tap scales the text column to fill the width of the screen, but I would say there is no significant improvement overall compared to your two column layout. Keep trying! I'm here to bitch whenever you need it :)

P.S. I won't repeat this all the time, but I'm using Chrome browser for both PC and Android devices.
