Petko is certainly one of the best. But before deifying him let's realize that he still plays the occasional 6 which is difficult to overcome when seeking a very low average PR and that there are others who probably outplay him. Even the best players play 4-6's enough so "true" averages often are higher than they are credited for.
Top 10. Maybe top 5. Top notch. When Giant voting starts he'll be top 4 or 5 on my list but not sure where. A nice guy and a great amazing player. He adjusts for opponent skill level quite nicely. But I'd put hard cash down on Matt over Petko. Matt might not be that visible on the tournament circuit but he's still a very active player. Falafel isn't really that active. Victor might give Petko a run for his money PR-wise but Petko might just edge him out. Ed O might play a legit 3.0 PR but I'm not sure if there's as much skill adjustments made so head's up I might bet on Petko but I'd probably just hold off since I think it's so close. And then there are the international players - I have no idea who plays a true 3.0 average.
Petko probably averages 3.2+ but I might be 0.1-0.2 off if we throw out plays that he takes a PR hit for in adjusting for opponent skill.
