Explanation of nacbracs

N Does Better in 4-ply Rollout

In comparing Neil’s 4-ply rollout in UG with the two other XG2 rollouts, a question comes to mind.

In David’s 62k rollout N trails by 0.0146. In Chris Yep’s 5k rollout, N trails by 0.0201. Both are margins that might cause one to reject those plays. Yet in Neil’s rollout, N is “tied,” trailing by only 0.0073.

Should we attribute the difference to the 3-ply cube decisions used in David’s and Chris’ rollouts, or is it primarily due to checker play differences at 3-ply?

I am inclined to think the former.

Mike
