I think it is

I think so.
1. It allows for continuously using the same type of notation.
2. Files can easily be named with 4th, 5th, 6th roll plays notated right into the file.
3. An entire game could be written out in just one line.
4. I have tried to notate a match with standard notation - I have fallen behind at times when plays were obvious and played quickly. I think the reduction from as many as 20 characters (only a few times it could possibly be that many) and as few as 6 to as many as 6 and as few as 3 is enough of a time savings to make it worthwhile.
Maybe other reasons?
5. Could quickly type a file with this notation over nactation and have XG read it and create the match. It would be more cumbersome to code XG to read a nactation file and get it right - more importantly, only a few people can properly write out a whole match in nactation. And it's quicker and easier (from a file readability standpoint) than standard notation.
