Ben,

Some people I know have actually figured it out themselves. When it came out there was no internet, so to speak. The only way to was by book, another person or solving it yourself.

You seem like a nice guy. Calling someone a liar over something not all that impressive, at the very least, is not nice and says something about your capacity. There are probably a number in the backgammon community who have either solved the cube themselves or learned in a very similar manner.

What I was saying about the Rubik's cube and me... Well, you misunderstood.

I was saying that it is a tough thing that I was incapable of solving on my own. I was actually diminishing myself. Not self-aggrandizing. It was a simple act of mimicry. My uncle plodded through the solution - I still have images of him, the cube, his fingers.

I'll leave it at this... Ask the people who know me well, if you care. I doubt you get many who feel what you wrote. It's just not that impressive a thing - even if you can't imagine the possibility.
