Some gamblers are rather nocturnal and would rather see the T start a bit later. (The tradition in weekend T of starting on the Sunday at the crack of dawn is not welcomed by everyone. Couldn't they have another Calcutta then so some of us get an extra quarter hour of beauty sleep?!)

FWIW I've never bought in to a Calcutta, but am not unhappy if holding one means I pay a little less to enter.
