Only backgammon of every sport in the world?

Is backgammon the ONLY (or almost only) sport in the world that is even contemplating ranking players based on anything but results?

Is backgammon that different from EVERY(or nearly every) other sport in existence?

What if all those year Tiger was performing poorly on tour we decided that he was theoretically strongest?
