Chouette double taking question

In SoCal clubs (San Diego, Orange County, and Los Angeles), if the box wishes to take only one of the two re-cubes, and one of those cubes is the captain, and both re-cubes are at an equal level (2, 4, 8, 16, etc.), the captain must be taken. No cherry-picking from the crew is what we are trying to avoid here.
