First of GURUAID is general tech support. They do not offer XP updates and security patches - they offer Windows XP Technical Support! Did you not read what I said (especially since you didn't even mention the company. I said:

" but it SOUNDS like a scam OF SORTS."

$170/year for Tech support. I guess if a business can find suckers to pay that for support then it is all fine. That is a heck of a lot of money a year!!! I would never recommend anyone pay that much. In my book that is a ripoff.

Now with that being said, GuruAid has a number of complaints over on ScamBook about their service:

Some of those comments actually make me think they are out to suck money out of unwitting people. And from some of the posts there, they don't even do a thorough job of Virus Scanning. Pay a lot for potential poor service. If you have the money to burn - be my guest.
