LM: Clocks in a non-clock tournament

The brief discussion on LM has gotten me curious about two players using a clock by mutual agreement in a non-clocked tournament.

Under many of the arguments by LM proponents, the TD should not allow this. The playing field is no longer "level" among all the matches. The match may terminate earlier than the match length in the rules of this non-clock event. Spectators have to deal with different types of matches.

Do LM proponents object to voluntarily using clocks in a non-clocked event even though the two players want to and it helps everyone else?

The irony is that using clocks greatly facilitates LM play!
