Transcription Payment

I have mixed emotions here.

When I have some idle time at a tournament I'll often volunteer to transcribe interesting matches for the players and for the community. I'm not looking to make a buck -- though I certainly do not fault those that do. I have on rare occasions been compensated (and try not to accept) -- but Ray, Frank, and others can be insistent at times.

Those that volunteer to transcribe streamed matches, in my opinion, do exactly that -- they volunteer to do so.

Now, if someone requests someone to transcribe their streamed matches, or their live matches, that is another story. I think when the work is solicited some compensation should be given.

Just my two cents.
