Kit wrote "It also illustrates the importance of gammons. A gammon threat gives the trailer more cube leverage. As usual the leader should avoid gammonish positions, while the trailer strives for them." I would add that the gammon threat for the leader does not help cube power at all.

Things are different though if the market has been lost already like in Stick's post http://www.bgonline.org/forums/webbbs_config.pl?read=159815. There the elevated gammon price on a 1 cube is a huge consideration. Before then hurting your cube power (by not being able to combine it with gammon wins) is the important consideration.
