Thanks for your feedback. I am still amazed at the number of passes that #11 keeps getting! I guess a lesson to take would be to increase my cube aggressiveness in similar positions, because the number of passes probably makes the double correct practically.
I agree, #7 is probably the toughest one, even more so OTB where many wouldn't even consider the non-hitting play. In a quiz there is at least a chance that you visualize 22/18 21/18 for a bit, and the more you look at it, the more obvious it becomes how strong it is.
In #5 I would consider the MCV (most common variation), and that is when Black dances. You want your numbers diversified, both for the next roll and for the future, because he could keep dancing even if you don't immediately cover. Reducing your opponent's jokers when he does enter is a valid factor for sure, but probably not the most important one here.
For #6 I agree that the duplication is all you need to solve it, it's how I got it right when I had the position OTB. Obviously, the number of return shots is lower as a consequence of duplication.
You are right about the gammon loss elimination in #12, it's obvious but I should have mentioned it in my explanation. Without the 1 checker off White would have some serious gammon threat which would probably turn the position into a pass. The reason why I concentrated on the take/pass decision is because more than half of the participants passed this! I still don't understand why, even if they thought 25% was borderline, that 1 checker off could have been the small lever to take. I guess some people just saw a bunch of blots without even considering the percentages. Again, goes on to show that the positions where you are directly shooting at your opponent's blots could prove to be very good bluffing opportunities.
