Safe play: 13/11(2) gives me around a 20% racing chance + some hitting chances if white doesn't escape next roll (11 escaping numbers). If I do hit next time I might still be leaving a direct shot when I do.

Hit now: 6/5* 4/1 gives 13 return shots, 6/5*/4 8/7(2) leaves 11 shots which is better and makes it a bit harder for white to hit and escape and gives me several cover numbers (any 3,6,9 & 16).

As I own the cube, my feeling is for the more aggressive 6/5*/4 8/7(2) which tries to win the gammon over the safe 13/11(2) which will have me racing from behind and probably facing the same hitting problem next roll.
