I don't think I'd find the slot. I actually prefer 23/17, 16/12 since it takes aim at the 6 more directly than my sloppy play.

Here I know that I will not be able to find the correct play by applying brute force. I also know that I understand the concept of the position so any error I may make is likely to be small. So, I don't spend too much time over this.

I have tried too many times to spend several minutes overthinking a position and ending up making a strange play when I should just have made my instinct play. My instict play usually turns out to be correct and it is rarely far off.

Using my fast play approach has several upsides. Off course it also has the drawback that I sometimes make an oversight which can be very costly.
