A lot of times if I'm inputting a match it will be my own and I remember what was played/the dice rolls for at least a short period of time. (a week?) This is how I get ahead of the video and get them input them so quickly. Also, being a good player you can make a lot of the moves before the people make them OtB. That's how I was basically the only person capable of inputting speedgammon in real time the first time it was held at the Nordic Open. /me pats self on back.

If I can't see a die and I don't know the roll then yes, I'd look at what was played (or what moves were considered) and be able to figure it out quickly.
