I never heard about the back story. Interesting.

Unfortunately, by 1992, Dan had been revealed as an intellectual lightweight many times. He was not nearly as stupid as Sarah Palin, but the poor guy definitely had limitations. Because of those, a lot of people would not believe the back story even if the teacher were relating it.
