I looked at variant 1, my first impression was that does not change the problem , yes it does mess about with the solution by very very small equity amounts. My analysis switched 1 and 2, so what. On first seeing the problem instant panic maybe 19 chances of being pointed on. Thats 50 % in the event a 50% chance of re-entry and 30 % of a high anchor. What to do? all those blots! I will safety the runner 8/2. On the day this play was fine. If you recognise the problem the variants prove the solution its all about Duplicating 2 or 3 or making the run. The 13/7 play on the original position is so pretty and is a great trap for the unwary and so tempting with all them blots. I would be smirking had I got it OTB.
