Seems like we are on the verge of having 3 very good ranking systems:

1, BMAB work awarding titles based on PR 2. Giants List - combining sportsmanship and contribution etc 3. What is missing is an international body overseeing result collation - could be simply based on cash, or ideally both cash and a points system (ala tennis) would be introduced so that everyone who turns up and plays or wins 1 match gets some sort of ranking.

They can all co-exist happily.

Problem seems to be people are so attached to the giants list, as the be all end all. FFS only 250 people give a flying to actually vote on it.
