Trying to build the best point available while not risking anything in the race. The main alternative is 6/3 coupled with either 24/23 or 8/7. This unstacks the larger stack but slots a weaker point and either puts a checker on the 23 point where it is blocked 6 away or leaves a shot in a close race (maybe that is the better of the two because the Dillies would need to give up the anchor to hit). Given that 8/4 retains a spare on the 8, that is my choice.
