Absolutely. Among many others.

But what is the 'short term'? I think it is in the eye of the beholder. Or it is what is necessary for someone to defend their position and belief.

Is it a game? a match? a tournament? a series of tournaments over six months? or five years? or ten years? or, even, forty years?

When does the short term end and success acknowledged for some reason other than luck?

I cannot believe some live in such a zero sum world and are so egotistical that they cannot recognize and accept the accomplishments of others. To do so is not necessarily at one's own expense. It's a big world out there.
