I saw this play (along with many other valid candidates) immediately when I looked at this position. If you can't even 'see' it to begin with then you simply haven't seen enough of these type positions. It doesn't have to be a double twos. It has to be a somewhat chunky position for your opponent and a play for you where you want to maximize contact. Since your opp's position is so fugly, anchor breaking plays even when way down in the race still may be the best way to keep contact. Here we get to keep our midpoint contact for quite a long time since we left the anchor and there is very little threat of our opponent ever cleanly attacking us.

I'm not suggesting I'd have made the correct play OtB. I am in Vegas and glanced at this and didn't actually settle on a final play. It was among the top of the list candidates though. Maybe I'd have got there, the world will never know.
