Surprise Resignation

As it was the Crawford game and he had three checkers off, I could win no more than a single point. Seems if he wants to resign the game he can do so, as it does no harm to me.
The exception would be, of course, if the guy was somehow, for some reason, purposely throwing a game or a match. But, obviously, one can always do that through poor, stupid play if they wish.
In this case, the opponent just stated "I'll give you the point." and started repositioning his checkers prior to me responding. I, of course, didn't mind him forfeiting the equity that he had at that point. Particularly since a win would give him the match, and a loss took us to a last game.
I'm used to my opponents, and myself, not conceding any game until it is completely gin.
