I believe that Nack is a reasonable person and if enough people feel a certain way, he will adapt. And on this point in particular, his tutorial gives the impression that using 21S is his preference but not necessarily a rule that is set in stone.
By the way, I would especially encourage lurkers and non-experts to voice their opinion on this topic. The audience for nactation is everyone who is interested in studying backgammon, and the majority of such people are not experts, but are students. On topics like this, experts have a tendency to lose perspective because they're so used to the status quo that they no longer empathize with the student perspective.
