Giants is what it is - an opinion poll. There is nothing wrong with that. If I play with someone and talk to them, I can have a real good sense of how strong they are whether they win or lose. In the short run, there is too much random variance to be entirely results based. In the long run, that effect becomes diminished. But in the end, what Giants balloting is all about - its purpose from day one - is what do people think. Yes, some players are more known around the world than others and there are some great players that are virtual unknowns. But in the end, what voters think does mean something, even if it is not perfect.
