Let me point out, though, that they're not totally unrelated. Consider a position, like a long race, where one has a very high probability of offering "an efficient cube." That means that if we were to roll out the position a kajillion times, almost all the doubles would be takes, and the "cube efficiency" a la GNU would be high.
Conversely, in a situation where I am stuck with (usually) offering an "inefficient cube," what that means is that I typically lose my market by a mile, so that if we were to roll the position out a kajillion times, most of my doubles would be drops, and the "cube efficiency" a la GNU would be low.
