From David's post (not David Rockwell's), it sounds like a rebuy for $60 gives you the same chance to qualify as the original entry fee of $300 (except that you have one less chance to rebuy). If that's true, then from an equity point of view you should keep rebuying until you qualify or run out of chances. This is equivalent to being charged $540 to enter the tournament and receiving a prize of $240 if you are a first time qualifier, $180 if you are a second time qualifier, etc.
