Lets assume 40 initial entrants

This is close to the usual ammount here for Memorial Day.

So 5 players qualify initially. And we assume everyone buys back since it is a no brainer.

Out of the remaining 35, 5 more qualify next round.

Out of the remaining 30, 4 more qualify in rd 3.

Out of the remaining 26, 4 more qualify in rd 4.

Out of the remaining 22, 3 qualify in the last round.

This leaves an unwieldly number of 21 for the playoffs. Who then gets byes? Those who won qualified initially?

Seriously, there are so many things to be concerned about with this format, like WTF do those that win 3 straight do for a day while the next 4 qualifying rounds play?

OK OK..different and new formats can be fun, but please not this one for ABT's.
